LE CREUSET X WICKED
Teaser Video
The Ask:
In keeping with Le Creuset’s tradition of cleverly alluding to future releases through visual metaphor and creative hinting, we needed to provide a glimpse at the limited-release Dutch ovens in partnership with a certain green-and-pink-hued silver screen phenomenon. This teaser video needed to excite and appeal to true fans of both the franchise and the fabled cookware brand.
The Answer:
Leaning on visuals from the first film, I designed part of the set to be indicative of the tower window where Elphaba and Galinda share one of their most iconic scenes from the first film. Using AI, I then created a green and pink toned backdrop to be cast on an LED screen. In a clever hint to the plot of the second film, we portrayed the Dutch ovens in a puddle below Elphaba’s hat and Galinda’s tiara. The effect was much like the films themselves: cinematic, bold, and a touch poignant for fans who cherish the Wicked story.

Galinda’s Design
For Galinda’s version, outfitted in Chiffon Pink, I carved out the signature pleats in her pink gown and outfitted her in her crown wielding her wand. In keeping with the visual language I’d utilized with Elphaba’s flying monkeys, I added butterflies (though an alternate version depicted bubbles) and provided the option of a custom knob with her signature “G”.
Elphaba’s Design
With Le Creuset’s signature Artichaut as the backdrop, Elphaba needed to be instantly recognizable. I achieved this by rendering her with her broomstick, cape, and iconic pointed hat. In the interest of balancing the overall design, I added her signature flying monkeys rendered in the style provided by Universal’s team. While the custom knob was not ultimately taken to production, I originally included a version with Elphaba’s scripted “E”.
